We have an elected executive committee of ten and have monthly or bimonthly meetings. In the past year our aim has been to build a strong team with leadership around the important issues for residents.
We have set up various campaign groups and people from the committee taking the lead on key issues such as leasehold, ELE, the park charge, grounds maintenance and L&Q service charges.
We have co-opted people on to the committee with specialist knowledge and now set up an advisory panel of experts.
We have worked through tracker and accountability meetings with L&Q, LLDC and the CMLLP
Over the past year, we've built on the work of previous teams and worked hard to make a strong committee team. We put people in charge of important topics and helped with the work of smaller groups. We've been trying to improve our relationship with L&Q by working together more often. We've often discussed with them the problems people have with reporting jobs, delays in fixing things, mistakes in service charges, and the poor teamwork between L&Q and Taylor Wimpey.
We started a gardening club to help L&Q with all the caretaking work that our green estate needs. We've named all the trees and tried to replace the ones that have died due to lack of appropriate care.
We have put on events that bring cheer and connection to the community and help us engage with inclusion and celebrate diversity.
Continue to strengthen our team and strive for an ever more involved community that helps us do better.
Establish simple and accessible communication channels to increase our membership.
Become a recognised residents association by enlisting at least half of the homes on the estate.
Continue our various campaigns towards fully transparent, efficient and reliable services by L&Q and other providers.
Promote a wider variety of events and activities to build neighbourliness and community life.
