Chobham Manor Art Competition:
Bringing the Community Spirit to the Lobby
This competition invites residents of Chobham Manor and local schools to showcase their artistic talents and create a welcoming focal point in the lobbies of apartment blocks. Winning artwork will be displayed prominently, fostering a sense of community and reflecting the vibrant spirit of the Olympic Park into Chobham Manor apartment blocks.
Eligibility:
Open to all residents of Chobham Manor and local schools.
Age categories:
Junior (5-12 years old)
Teen (13-19 years old)
Adult (20 years old and above)
Artwork Categories:
Nature & Environment: Capture the feel of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the surrounding area, or celebrate themes of sustainability and nature.
Community & Togetherness: Depict the vibrant life at Chobham Manor, showcasing the diverse community or activities residents enjoy.
Abstract & Inspirational: Uplift and inspire with original, non-representational artwork that complements the lobby's modern aesthetic.
Artwork Specifications:
Medium: Paintings, drawings, textiles, prints, photographs etc. We are open to any form of artwork of any size. Our primary preference is that it should be wall mountable.
Work submitted: The format of the piece(s) submitted need not be the work that will be mounted in apartment block lobbies.
Prizes:

First Prize: £50
Second Prize: £30
Third Prize: £20
Judging Criteria:
Originality and creativity
Relevance to the chosen category and the spirit of Chobham Manor
Composition and aesthetics
Appropriateness for the lobby space (size, colour scheme)
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: 31 July 2024
Winner Announcement: 14 September 2024 at the CMRA Autumn event.
Exhibition: 14 September at the CMRA autumn event, location Timberlodge.

High-resolution image of the artwork to secretary@chobhammanor.org
Artists(s’) details including name, age and contact details should be submitted with the work. Include artwork title, and inspiration as desired.
Additional Information:
Artists can submit multiple entries in multiple formats if desired.
Collaborative entries are encouraged.
Shortlisted artists may be contacted for additional information or clarification about their artwork.
The artwork (that displayed in lobbies) will become the property of the Chobham Manor Residents' Association.
Cost of mounting and/or framing will be borne by the residents association.
